Kim’s Chilled Couriers

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

kims chilled couriers, refrigerated transportMetafocus have recently built and launched a new website for a haulage company in Sutton-in-Ashfield called Kim’s Chilled Couriers. The design of the new site is a big improvement on their previous 1 page design. The new site has been designed to be search engine friendly. The old design featured a flash intro, which is notoriously bad for SEO.

The haulage firm was established by John and Kim in 1999. Originally they began making deliveries with just one van, but over the last 9 years the business has grown significantly. Based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, the Nottinghamshire courier offer a range of refrigerated transport options, operating a fleet of various sized vans and articulated vehicles.

Kim’s Chilled Couriers provide refrigerated haulage services, which includes transport of ambient, chilled or frozen goods. Kim’s deliver refrigerated freight to any destination in the U.K. and Ireland.

The haulage firm are one of our latest SEO clients. We will be working hard over the next few weeks to get their site ranking highly in Google for their chosen keywords, examples of their keywords include frozen couriers, refrigerated freight, refrigerated haulage and chilled transport.

If you are looking for a reliable and flexible refrigerated courier or haulage firm then contact Kim’s Couriers through their website: http://www.kimschilledcouriers.com

For more information about search engine optimisation or online marketing then please give us a call on 0115 9470011.

Personal SEO challenges…Commodes!

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

We have a real mix of clients who we work with on a monthly basis, managing their SEO and PPC campaigns, with a wide variety of markets and products, some more competitive than others. Occasionally you find yourself with a client who is ranking well for a whole list of words but has 1 or 2 which just don’t seem to rank at all. Case in point, Mobility Buddy.

Mobility Buddy’s main business is disabled scooters, which it is currently ranking well for, but it also sells a wide variety of living aids such as walking frames, rollators and different types of zimmer frames. One of these items which is just not ranking is commodes

commodesNow you wouldn’t imagine that commodes would be a particularly competitive keyword but at this point in time it’s just not ranking well. Personally, I find situations like this to be a real personal challenge and find it quite compelling to track the progress of this particular word as I build more links to the site and promote the pages.

Using our sound SEO techniques and long-term linking strategies, I am very confident that we will get commodes to rank well for Mobility Buddy, in fact I’m going to go away and build some links now!! Keep an eye on Google…!

Global Internet MarketingWe’ve been using YouTube to promote our clients for quite some time now and finally decided that it was time to create our own YouTube channel to feature these videos and also some of our own recent promotional work. First up is the Global Internet Marketing video which the UKTI filmed at our premises in the Lace Market, Nottingham.

The focus of the video was predominantly the chinese websites and chinese online marketing service which we are currently providing for a number of clients but it has actually resulted in a very nice promotional video showing our team, what we do and how we do it.

Here’s the video in full:

Cześć Polska!

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Liberty Industrial are a Mansfield employment agency for Eastern European workers, finding jobs for Polish welders and Polish engineering workers.

In order to appeal to visitors from Poland we created a Polish website, translated by a native speaker and optimised for the Polish Internet market.

Liberty Industrial’s Polish website is hosted in Poland and we made sure they kept their company brand, by registering www.libertyindustrial.pl for their Polish website. As local Google in each European countries also give priority for websites hosted in Poland with a Polish domain name, this is quite an important first step for the website to be seen in Poland.

So, a big “hello” to Poland! Check out www.libertyindustrial.pl to view Metafocus’ newest multilingual website.

New Aspetto Blog

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

How to get the perfect shaveFollowing on from my earlier post, we’ve literally just launched a blog for www.aspetto.co.uk offering male grroming tips and advice as well as product reviews and customer testimonials. Check it out here: http://male-grooming-uk.blogspot.com/

Stephen at Aspetto has already written a lot of very engaging and useful content which we can use to form the basis of at least the first few blog posts and then develop from there using both their orignal content and also commentary and reviews of new products and relevant news stories.

We’ve kicked off the blog with a subject close to all men’s hearts: how to get that Perfect Shave.

The Aspetto Blog has an awful lot of potential and is definitely one to watch.

Using blogs as an Online Marketing tool

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

We’re very keen on blogs here… as you can see from how often we update this one! We’ve found from our experiences here that blogs can be a very direct and immediate way of promoting a site, new product or updated content without the need to contact third party sites and request links. Also, commenting on other people’s blogs is a very direct way of associating your products or services with existing, successful sites or brands and effectively joining an online community.

Aside from creating our own blogs and encouraging our clients to keep them regularly updated with fresh content, we also use a wide range of blogs to help us keep on top of the SEO and Online Marketing game and see what’s new in the industry. Just from looking today at the feeds coming from the various blogs in my RSS Feed Reader I can see:

- email in France is now officially called ‘courriel’ source

- Google co-founder Sergey Brin has booked a seat on a flight to the International Space Station in 2011 source

- Google Trends has now been updated to allow you to download the figures into a spreadsheet – very handy source

There’s a lot of information out there if you know where to look and we always try and make a little time each day to review the main blogs out there to see what is happening and what are the latest developments. We’ve also taken the time to each setup a personal blog to offer a more targetted view of what we’re doing and how we’re doing it:

Ed: SEO Nottingham Blog

Stu: Online Marketing Nottingham Blog

Monica: Multilingual SEO Blog

Keep your eyes on these blogs to see what we each have to say….
