We’ve finally launched our new look UK website, following hot on the heels of our Global Online Marketing site which we launched a few weeks ago. This now completes our suite of websites, focussing on different services that we offer.
Stuart and I hit the streets of the Lace Market to take the homepage image of Nottingham’s iconic trams as they rumble towards the city centre, causing interest and comment from passers by and local businesses. We were trying to find an image which sums up modern Nottingham (no Robin Hood references allowed) and decided that the trams would be the #1 option. Our aim is to regularly update this image with other shots in and around Nottingham, so keep an eye on the homepage to see where we go next.
We now have:
www.metafocus.co.uk - seo Nottingham, ecommerce websites and internet marketing Nottingham
www.metafocusglobal.com - international internet marketing, multilingual seo and chinese websites
www.metafocus-china.com - designed to be highly visible in China for our customer base in the Olympic host country
… and not forgetting
www.metafocus.co.uk/blog - our seo blog which has had a facelift too.
We’d love to hear what you have to say about our new designas we’re really proud of it.
Cheers
Rich

When you’re working for as large a spread of clients on an ongoing basis as we are, it’s often difficult to work on your own promotion but we do our best to practice what we preach and follow best practice with our own SEO and Online Marketing. it’s even more rare to have a chance to look at your progress which is why a search today for “seo nottingham” brought up these rather pleasing results:

Our main website in #1, this blog is #2 and our recent UKTI video on Youtube is new in at #7. Not bad, not bad at all!

Ouch! a personal injury solicitor website which we built some time ago for a partnership of local solicitors has now been replaced by a new site called Recover!
Structurally and visually Recover! looks very similar to Ouch! and we have been careful to follow the previous site design so that any brand awareness that Ouch! may have had, carries across to the new website.
The biggest challenge facing us now is the dreaded Google Sandbox. At the point that Ouch! was taken out of commission we were just beginning to get good rankings for competitive terms such as “accident compensation claim” and “whiplash settlement” in the 3 major search engines and now we have to start all over again. This time however we have the prototype for what we did for Ouch! as a roadmap to follow, so hopefully things should move a little faster this time.
We’re also going to make more use of blogs and forums as we have seen significant results for some of our more recent sites, not to mention our own International Internet Marketing website which has achieved some ranking within the top 50 after only 2 days!

We’re proud to announce the launch of another innovate ecommerce website: Soles4U!
This site is devoted to large size and wide fitting womens shoes from size 8 to size 11. The site owner conceived the site after struggling to find shoes for her own feet, deemed to be larger than average. Looking for shoes for similar minded women in size 8, size 9, size 10 and size 11, Soles4U was born and the problem solved.
We’re now embarking on a full SEO campaign for the website to build an online reputation and grow the visitors coming in. We’re planning on using blogs, forums and social marketing along with direct submission to directories. We’re also hoping to use discount vouchers as an incentive to visit the site which has proved very popular for some other websites of ours, most notably www.yoursweetshop.com.
So if you know any ladies looking for large sized shoes or wide fitting shoes, boots, sandals or heels, visit Soles4U and see what they have in stock!

When thinking about the online promotion of a company, there is often a situation where there are two very different products or services on offer. The question then arises: do you split the website into two or keep it as a single site with two divisions? To split or not to split?
There are obviously merits to both and it’s not an easy decision to make:
No Split = one URL to promote
Split = can focus on specific keywords
No Split = popularity of one side can reflect onto horizontal pages
Split = more opportunities for submissions and link exchange
In honesty there is no one answer that is correct in every case, for example Morley Hayes have their hotel, restaurants and golf courses all on one single site whilst one of our other clients, Cascades Gardens has been split in two. Comprising a luxury bed and breakfast near Chatsworth House and a very popular Open Public Garden, we felt that two distinct sites was the best approach. The derbyshire B&B site is established with a high pagerank and portfolio of links whilst the derbyshire garden site is brand new and fighting its way out of the Google sandbox.
Short term, the open garden website will need to fight against established competition but longer term, we are very confident that it will establish itself and rank highly as one of England’s best public gardens websites.
Now then, I wonder if we should split the Metafocus site…

This post is about farm fresh meat from one of the leading farm shops in Nottingham. The great thing about the buying fresh meat in the UK is the quality and variety of butcher meat and farm fresh meat from your local farm shop. Gonalston Farm Shop is one of the freshest local farm shops in Nottinghamshire. Besides mouth watering beef, lamb, pork and sausage meat, Gonalston have a large range of farmhouse cheese, tarts, quiches, pies and ham at their delicatessen in Nottingham, as well as seasonal fresh fruit and veg.
My recent favourite farm fresh meat recipe, adapted from the Hairy Bikers, is both healthy and easy to make. The Hairy Bikers cooked this dish on the side of a road, so it is definitely one to try in the comfort of your kitchen. Chicken Breast stuffed with Sausage is simple to prepare and contains three different types of fresh meat.
Gonalston Farm Shop offers free delivery on any fresh meat in the UK. They have also won numerous “Great Taste Awards” for their range of fresh farm meat in the past few years. Buy with confidence at Gonalston Farm Shop’s Nottingham online store.
